The social media brand invests heavily in marketing and sales to grow its audience. There has been a sharp increase in its marketing and sales costs during the past two years. In the third quarter of 2018, it spent 1.9 Billion dollars on marketing and sales. During the same period last year its marketing and sales costs amounted to 1.2 Billion dollars. In the first three quarters of fiscal year 2018, it has already spent around 5.4 Billion dollars on marketing and sales.
