The marketing expenses of Netflix totalled $2.545 billion in 2021 compared to $2.228 billion in 2020. It spent $1.669 billion on advertising in 2021 compared to $1.447 billion in 2020. At the end of fiscal 2021, the subscriber base of Netflix included around 222 million users. The online streaming platform enjoyed strong financial growth in 2021 compared to the previous year.

Netflix spent $2.2 billion on marketing in 2020 compared to $2.65 billion in 2019. The marketing expenses of Netflix mainly consist of advertising expenses, which amounted to $1.45 billion in 2020 compared to $1.88 billion in 2019.

The total marketing expenses of Netflix rose to $2.65 billion in 2019 compared to $2.37 billion in 2018. The advertising expenses of the company grew to $1.88 billion in 2019 from $1.8 billion in 2018.
