BMW Number of vehicles sold

The chart above displays the number of vehicles sold each year by the BMW group from 2012 to 2022.

In 2022, the BMW group sold 2,399,632 units of vehicles compared to 2,521,514 in the prior year. The company experienced a 5.1 decline in vehicle deliveries in 2022 compared to the prior year. However, it still experienced solid revenue growth in 2022.

The BMW group sold 2,100,689 units of BMW brand vehicles and 292,922 of MINI brand vehicles as well as 6,021 units of Rolls Royce vehicles in 2022. While the sales of Rolls Royce vehicles increased in 2022, that of the other two brands owned by the BMW group declined compared to the prior year.

BMW Group vehicle sales by brand:

In 2021, BMW experienced solid growth in its sales of vehicles compared to the previous year. The company sold 2,521,514 units in 2021 compared to 2,325,179 in 2020, yoy growth of 8.4%. The rollsRoyce brand (owned by BMW) experienced 48% growth in vehicle deliveries in 2021 compared to 2020. The BMW brand experienced 9.1% growth in vehicle deliveries and sold 2,213,790 units in 2021 compared to 2,028,841 units in 2020. MINI (also owned by BMW) sold 302,138 units in 2021 compared to 292,582 units in 2020.

The total number of passenger vehicles delivered to customers by the BMW group declined 8.4% in 2020 compared to the previous year. The BMW Group delivered a total of 2,325,179 automobiles in 2020 compared to 2,537,504 in 2019.

The BMW brand delivered a total of 2,028,841 vehicles in 2020 compared to 2,184,939 in 2019. The number of vehicles delivered by the BMW brand declined by 7.1% in 2020 as compared to 2019.

MINI (owned by the BMW group) delivered a total of 292,582 vehicles in 2020 compared to 347,465 in 2019; a decline of 15.8% compared to the last year.

Rolls Royce (Also owned by the BMW group) delivered a total of 3,756 vehicles in 2020 compared to 5,100 in 2019; a YoY decline of 26.4%.

The sales of Rolls Royce cars declined in 2017 but that of Mini and BMW cars increased. In 2017, BMW sold 2,088,283 BMW cars, 371,881 Minis and 3362 RollsRoyces. The number of motorcycles sold was 164,153. In 2017, China was the leading market for BMW driving revenue growth. In Mainland China, deliveries went past 590,000 vehicles. In March 2018 the sales of BMW vehicles grew against the same period previous year. It sold 31,311­ in March 2018­ compared to 31,015 vehicles sold in March 2017. For March 2018, MINI USA For March, MINI USA reported sales of 4,531 vehicles.
