The number of McDonald’s stores operational worldwide grew to 40,031 in 2021 compared to 39,198 in 2020. It had 13,438 restaurant stores operational in the United States in 2021 compared to 13,682 in 2020.
McDonald’s number of franchised stores was 37,295 in 2021 compared to 36,521 in 2020. The number of company operated stores in 2021 reached 2,736 in 2021 compared to 2,677 in 2020.
