Technology brands apart from innovation also invest in marketing and promotions. Microsoft’s advertising expenses are included in its sales and marketing expenses. However, in 2017, its advertising expenses alone equalled 1.5 Billion. This was lower than what the technology giant had kept spending on advertising since 2013. Microsoft spent 1.6 Billion on advertising in 2016 and 1.9 Billion dollars in 2015.
